Publishing on Place4Us

Place4Us is now the place for you to publish your community newspaper, your topical newsletter, the magazine you always wanted, or the scientific journal your communities needs.

The media market is increasingly in the hands of a few wealthy families. Local newspapers are hardly free local media that keep a societal dialog going at local scale. Regional and national newspapers hardly play into the self-correcting mechanism a democratic society requires. They are increasingly misused to achieve the political goals of the wealthy owners.

As Yuval Noah Harari emphasizes, centralizing information is a fundamental condition for the development of totalitarian systems. Democracy requires decentralized information and efficient self-correcting mechanism. Free press is a crucial element in this.

Place4Us provide an environment for the communities on Place4Us to maintain their own media. They can maintain their topical, community-focused, or local or regional newspaper, their newsletter, or their magazine. Scientific communities can establish their scientific journals as a means to communicate their scientific findings and to have a dialog with those who might find the knowledge they create useful.

Periodicals can be established in the Bark Corner on the Town Square or in Newsrooms or Libraries in VCCs. Periodicals can be shared between several VCCs. There are means to include periodicals on the Billboard of a VCC and in this way make them easily accessible.

Our tools for establishing and maintaining such periodicals are very flexible and should meet all regular requirements. Editors of periodicals have a wide range of option to decide what can be published and who can contribute. We are flexible and can extend or adapt the tools as needed.
