Pace4Us Vision and MissionPaul Hawken identified a "blessed unrest" of millions of groups and organizations who all are working towards the same goal. However, there is no place for this unrest to form a powerful global movement that can change the current trajectory and tackle the growing spectrum of potentially cataclysmic threats we all are facing. The governments in the world again and again address these threats insufficiently and incompetently. Only a Global Citizen Movement (GCM) can change this. To achieve the mission of Place4Us, the Earth Viablility Center, Inc. (EVC) has established Place4Us as a Social Collaboration Platform (SCP) that is designed to host a global ecosystem of Virtual Community Centers (VCCs). Place4Us is developed and governed by the global user community under the corporate framework provided by the EVC, a not-for-profit company registered in Virginia, USA. Place4Us provides a home for communities in their VCCs and networks of such VCCs. The VCCs are semiautonomous units (recursions) on Place4Us. The VCCs hosted on Place4Us are developing collaborative communities of shared interests and goals. Eventually, a network of millions of VCCs will support the synergistic and intersectional work of activist groups worldwide. This global village of VCCs will be the backbone of a GCM powerful enough to transform our governmental and economic systems such that humankind will live in harmony with nature and understand that humanity is an inseparable part of nature. A VCC can provide a home for each of the groups in the blessed unrest. The global ecosystems of interconnected VCCs can facilitate a GCM that has the power to create a desirable future for all of us. Place4Us has a vital role to play in healing the Earth's life-support system. The ethos of Place4Us is aligned to the ethos of the EVC. It includes the basic values of Caring for others, Democracy, Equity, Equality, Honesty, Openness, Self help, Self responsibility, Solidarity and Social responsibility. |
